I love reading good writing.
I hope, someday, I will be someone who can pen "great writing".
I look at some books and scrumptiously devour the words off of the page. I was just reviewing and reading Laura Hillenbrand's "Unbroken" for my 10th grade Honors classes and I sighed aloud as I read her description of Louie. What a great, descriptive author. She takes me into his world in the first sentences:
"In the predawn darkness of August 26, 1929, in the back bedroom of a small house in Torrance, California, a twelve-year old boy sat up in bed, listening."
I love all of her pauses and commas constructed into her semi-complex sentence. Delightful.
Stephen King was right when he said a good book is nothing more than telepathy--that is an author reaching across space and time and giving you a story. He said, "I didn't tell you. You didn't ask me. I
never opened my mouth and you never open yours. We're not even in the
same year together, let alone the same room . . . except we are together. We're close. We're having a meeting of the minds."
Love it.
I hope to take meet my readers through my writing.
Time will only tell.
