Sending out query letters is my favorite and least favorite part of the writing process. It always makes me laugh, thinking I have to sell my work in one letter AND MAYBE the first two chapters. I know that the chapters will sell themselves if I've done my job, but letter writing is just not my thing. It is an art, and the well-written business letter will make the world of difference--we'll see if I've done my job.
As for other news, I am busy working on the final final final edits of Nedge. The chapters have been read over twenty times and put through the grammar and make-the-story-move ringer. At this point I feel that feeling other authors have told me about when you say, "There's nothing more I can do."
I look forward to the summer where I have made commitments to me and my wife to write daily. As of today, I have worked on writing nearly once a day (save for two days this past two weeks). The only catch will be if I can't get a computer this week. There is a chance I will be computerless, if that's the case I'll move into yellow tablets like my dad. Sigh.
Summer come quickly, but stay away unless you bring me a computer.
